Preferred Providers are simply service providers with which a health fund has a special relationship or arrangement with, thus making dental services more affordable for their members. Your health fund may cover part, or all of your general or major dental treatments depending on the agreed level of cover you have with the fund. You may also be eligible for higher rebates from your fund allowing you to save money on the cost of your treatment.
HICAPS is the technology we use to process your standard health fund claim. The rate you pay is then the gap between the standard rebate amount outlined by your health fund and our fee. This process includes swiping your health fund card through the HICAPS machine. It gets electronically processed so you receive your rebate immediately and you only pay the ‘gap’, if any via EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard, American Express or approved payment plans.
